DESCRIPTION
Though our inclination is rarely to identify ourselves with biased perspectives, as social creatures we all have and influence bias despite our best intentions. By its definition, bias is a neutral term; we all have biases. As recipients of countless direct and indirect messages over our lifetimes through family and friends, education, media, etc., our perspectives of the world around us impact how we show up and interact with one another - for better or for worse.
OBJECTIVES
- Examine how we might each continuously reflect on the implicit and explicit biases we have been socialized to believe
- Construct an understanding of how it can influence work.
